HOLIDAY SEARCHING KNOWLEDGE BASE

OUR THINKING

Why Was TripsByDate Created?

We think finding a holiday should be the enjoyable part. TripsByDate was created to make it feel less like filling in forms and more like discovering somewhere you want to go.

Holiday searching had become harder than it needed to be

Package holidays offer an enormous range of possibilities. Yet exploring those possibilities can be surprisingly awkward. Many booking websites are built around a long series of decisions: destination, dates, duration, party details, filters and results.

That approach has its place when you know exactly which hotel or resort you want. But what if you simply know you have a week off and fancy getting away? To explore several countries, you may have to repeat much of the same search again and again.

We wanted to remove that friction. The problem was not a lack of holidays. It was how much work it could take to discover them.

We started with one simple question: when can you go?

Instead of asking you to commit to a destination, TripsByDate starts with your departure airport and the dates you can travel. Select an airport once and the website remembers it for your future visits. Click through departure dates to see the package holidays listed for each day.

Want to check Friday instead of Saturday? Just click the next date. Wonder whether a different week reveals a better-value holiday? Keep browsing. The aim is to get you looking at actual offers quickly, not working through another search form.

A better way to browse, not another complicated search engine

We built TripsByDate around clear, consistent holiday listings. A quick scan should help you see the destination, holiday details, price and provider without learning a different interface for each travel company.

This matters because the best option is not always the first destination you had in mind. When you can see different countries and departure dates in one browsing experience, it becomes easier to notice opportunities that a destination-first search might never have shown you.

TripsByDate is designed to make that first stage of choosing a holiday feel immediate and enjoyable. Less searching. More choosing.

Why we want to bring holiday providers together

Holiday offers are scattered across different suppliers, each with its own catalogue and way of presenting results. We believe travellers should be able to browse a growing range of those offers in one place, with a familiar layout.

Our long-term ambition is to build a comprehensive package holiday aggregator, bringing together listings from as many suitable travel providers as possible. Think of the convenience of browsing a marketplace, applied to package holidays.

That is our direction, not a claim that TripsByDate already lists every holiday or automatically searches every supplier. Coverage grows as we add more providers and offers.

What about finding a cheaper holiday?

Sometimes a lower-priced option is just a departure date or an alternative country away. TripsByDate makes it straightforward to scan dates and spot listed offers worth investigating. That saves repeated searches, although it does not guarantee the lowest price anywhere on the market.

Prices and availability can change. The important final step is always to check the current offer with the supplier, including what is included in the package.

TripsByDate helps you find holidays. Suppliers take the bookings.

TripsByDate is a holiday discovery and referral platform, not the company arranging your holiday. When you find something interesting, you follow the listing to the relevant travel provider to confirm availability, final pricing and terms, and complete any booking there.

Our role is to make it easier to find and compare options. The travel provider remains responsible for the holiday it sells.

The bigger idea: make TripsByDate the place to start

We want TripsByDate to become a natural first stop whenever someone thinks, “I fancy a holiday. What's available?” Whether you have fixed annual leave, flexible dates or no destination in mind, you should be able to start exploring straight away.

As we grow the selection of package holidays, we want to keep the experience simple. More choice should not mean more forms, more complexity or more wasted time. It should mean more options to discover, presented clearly.
